Eleven games, eleven starts, 990 minutes. Federico Foganio has not missed a single minute: in his first season at Assumption University, in NCAA Division II, the goalkeeper from Genoa is the Greyhounds’ undisputed starter, and the Northeast-10 named him Goalie of the Week.
The numbers
This season Federico has made 49 saves, stopping 73% of the shots on target, with 1.64 goals against per game and a clean sheet in the 4-0 win over Pace on October 3. Assumption are 5-4-2.
The games
On Tuesday, September 29, No. 5 nationally ranked and unbeaten Southern New Hampshire came to Worcester. Federico made 11 saves, two of them in the first three minutes, and the Greyhounds held on for a 1-1 draw after Cody Holbert’s goal in the 42nd minute.
On September 5 at Molloy he had already made the difference: three saves in just over two minutes from the 86th minute, then Holbert scored with seven seconds left for a 2-1 win.
From Genoa to Worcester
Federico is from Genoa, a Genoa CFC fan, and graduated from Istituto Natta Deambrosis. With YWC he went through the 2024 Training Camp in Piancavallo and the 2025 Italian Showcase in Novarello. In the U.S. he started at Anna Maria College, in Division III, and this year moved to Assumption, in Worcester, Massachusetts, where he is a junior.
